School History

The school and boarding started with the inspiration of Rev.Fr.Luigi Pezzoni along with sisters to educate Leprosy patient’s children and poor children. It was his dream to establish a school for the children; in the beginning the school started in hospital with five children, because there was no building was constructed during 1981.Fr.Pezzoni called his friend Dr.Sipione Daniel to lay the foundation stone. In the same year 1981 December the school building completed. In the year 1981 march 3rd the school has got the official declaration up to fifth standard to run the school. The school building was blessed by Most Rev. Mathew Cheriankannel Bishop of Nalgonda in the presence of Rev.Fr.Luigi Pezzoni. The chief guest for that day was legislative member Mr.Godpray and D.E.O Ischa vasanth kumar.The strength of school was 90 children with four teachers in the beginning .later o the school developed for 34 years. The school has more strength of children around 333 at present. During the year 2015, we got permission for the English medium with the strength of 333 children with ten teachers at present St.Francis School in nalgonda.

Mission

The mission of new horizon school is to provide a school for Leprosy patient’s children and poor children. Our objective is to help the children the bonds of poverty and helplessness by environment that will empower them to successfully move in the main stream of society.

Vision

To empower and to educate the leprosy patients children to acquire knowledge and skills that will support them to be good citizen in the society .

Values

We want to inculcate values in children. Honesty, discipline, loyalty, tolerance, justice, self-control, sincerity to promote the school the social efficiency as individual.

Boarding Activities:
• Taking care of children’s physical needs.
• Taking care of their personal hygiene.
• Providing everything freely.
• Parents meeting.
• Educating the parents by counseling.
• Tuition and study.
• Recreation, play, games.
• The children take part in the liturgy of the mass daily. The children pray the rosary.we take care of their spiritual needs.

Social pastoral activities:
• Faith formation and teaching catechism for children
• Praying with patients , children , lay faithful
• Visiting the sick and giving communion
• Visiting the families and praying with them
• Once a year month of October praying with the families
• Collaboration with parish activities based on needs
• Collaboration with diocese level activities
• Counseling and guidance for the youth
• Listening to the problems of the families
