Community History

The Francisacn Sisters of the Immaculate were invited by Brothers of St. Gabriel Education Society to work in collaboration in school. The purpose of starting this mission was to work in collaboration with St Gabriel Brothers at Cambridge school and also to involve in the social activities, for the upliftment of the poor and the needy and specially to work for the promotion of women. The first communities of Sisters were Sr. Pauline Marneni Superior of the community, Sr. Christina Fernandes, Sr. Kanuka Marneni, Sr. Swarnalatha being members. They were accompanied by then Provincial Sr. Lucy Augustine and Councilor Sr. Jerosa.

On 13th June 2006 the community members started their journey to Cuttack and on 17th June 2006, began the community with the blessing of the house (Rented house) by Rev Fr Joseph Kalatil the than Vicar General of diocese. (Cuttack –Bhubaneswar) In June 2010, Sisters shifted back to Cambridge School. On 27th of June 2011 was the Installation of Blessed Sacrament and Blessing of the Prayer room by our Arch BishopJohn Barwa.
